I’ve Been Soft-Banned on Poshmark

Oh shit, I’ve been soft-banned on Poshmark.

Why can’t I follow people…what the hell is going on, is Poshmark down?

Nope, Poshmark is not “down” or glitching. You’ve been soft-banned! Poshmark has put you in Poshmark-jail, don’t worry, everything will be ok. Sometimes when you share or follow too fast, or too much, Poshmark temporarily bans either your entire account or a certain feature. Soft-banning is temporary, and usually will be lifted in 24 hours or so.

It’s no secret, Poshmark is highly addicting. I am obsessed with following people. My current Poshmark goal is to reach 100,000 followers by June.  I am currently on a follow binge. I admit, I may have over did it, I followed a little over 10,000 in 1 week. I have a really cool touch screen all-in-one laptop so, following people is a breezy, and I can follow REALLY fast. When following, I kept getting captcha’s. Like damn, am I really following that fast… Well, I clear the captcha and continue. Again, I got another captcha, what the hell man. Again, I clear it and continue. I continue to clear captchas for the next 4-6 hours, on and off.

    I took an hour break for dinner (God forbid) I came back to my laptop and continue following.  I followed about 20 people and all of a sudden, when I clicked on follow, nothing happened. I thought nothing of it, I refreshed the page and tried again. I click on “follow” and again, nothing… I am able to share, just not follow. I instantly realize I’ve been soft-banned for “throttling” Throttling is when you have been sharing or following too fast. So, I closed down my laptop, turned on Netflix and just gave my account some time to chill out. My account was back to normal in a little over 24hrs.

Why Does Poshmark Soft-Ban?

    The reason why Poshmark Soft-bans is to prevent botting. I know lots of highly successful closets that use Poshmark enhancing software. As long as you space out your Poshmark activity, whether you’re using a bot or doing your business the old-fashioned way, you will be fine. My mentor /PFF uses software and pulls in a whopping $1,200+ a week! She has never been soft-banned because she spaces and times everything out. As long as you don’t abuse your account, like a did manually (without software) you have nothing, at all to worry about.

I am surprised that Poshmark has soft-banned me. This is my normal activity, nothing looks different, just instead of 10,000 shares in a week I did 10,000 follows. I will add that Poshmark did not notify me about this soft-ban.  As stated in their terms, Poshmark has the right to temporarily or permanently close your account, without any notification. Messed, up right… Well you agreed to it when you signed up. Here is an excerpt from their terms. You can find the full copy of their terms here;

You agree that Poshmark, in its sole discretion, may suspend or terminate your account (or any part thereof) or use of the Service and remove and discard any items or content within the Service, for any reason, including, without limitation, for lack of use or if Poshmark believes

that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of these Terms of Service. Any suspected fraudulent, abusive or illegal activity that may be grounds for termination of your use of Service, may be referred to appropriate law enforcement authorities. Poshmark may also in its sole discretion and at any time discontinue providing the Service, or any part thereof, with or without notice. You agree that any termination of your access to the Service under any provision of these Terms of Service may be effected without prior notice, and acknowledge and agree that Poshmark may immediately deactivate or delete your account and all related information and files in your account and/or bar any further access to such files or the Service. Further, you agree that Poshmark shall not be liable to you or any third-party for any termination of your access to the Service. “

In conclusion. Life goes on, just not your sharing/following, depending on which type of soft-ban you have been graced with. It will be ok, just chill out with sharing or following so fast. Moderation is key!
